This is the Romantic era version of the interior illustration for the story 'Queen of Frost and Darkness' by Christine Pope from the winter issue of Dark Valentine Magazine. I drew it without considering that most people don't really like the romantic era and the author preferred that they be wearing bustles. Because digital art and layers are AWESOME it was an easy fix.

it is one of those eras that a lot of costume history buffs just can't get into. It took me years to get around to sort-of liking it. I don't know why... maybe its the really odd proportions? I mean, odder than many other historic eras. Sort of like the late-Elizabethan - something about the proportions just makes people kinda go "eew"
So I am going to favourite them Both!
