not the greatest pictures (I'm kind of twisting in the first, which puts everything a bit wonky...) but....
It's Ren fest time again, which means that it's time for me to once more scrounge something out of the recesses of my fabric stash and cobble something together last minute.
The doublet is based on the pattern for one out of Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion with the tabbed sleeves and other adornment inspired by various paintings, etchings, and other sources (a lot of my books are still packed from moving and I can't remember all the different things I was looking at).
I had to lighten the pics so you could see anything, but the banding and inside of the collar are velvet and the base of the doublet silk.

Anyone who uses Janet Arnold as a source is good in my book. Also looks nice.
